EARLOBE REPAIR

What is ear lobe repair?

Ear lobe repair is a surgical procedure used to correct earlobes that have been distorted through ageing, accident, the wearing of heavy jewellery or are naturally asymmetric or unshapely.

What can ear lobe repair do?

We use ear lobe repair to correct:

  • Congenital and birth deformities that have affected the earlobe
  • Split earlobes as a result of heavy earrings or enlarging a piercing
  • Droopy earlobes – we can reduce and correct long or out of proportion earlobes
  • Facelift earlobes – we can correct earlobes that have been pulled down as a result of a facelift
  • Earlobe keloids – uncontrolled scarring around the earlobe area

How long do the results last?

Earlobe correction surgery is permanent and in most cases the ears can be re-pierced again afterwards.

Treatment and recovery time

Earlobe repair surgery is performed under local anaesthetic. There are different ways that the surgery can be performed depending on your requirements and desired result, and this will be discussed with you at the consultation.

Following the procedure, a small tape dressing is applied and you will be able to go home straight after. Vigorous activities will need to be avoided for a week after the procedure, and any non-soluble stitches will be removed a week afterwards. You will be able to return to work the following day.
