Nanofat
Fat cells are very rich in growth factors which help rejuvenate the skin by promoting new collagen and elastin formation. Nanofat is produced by passing the fat cells through very tiny filters which effectively squashed the fat cell and makes it release its growth factors. This type of fat is called Nanofat.

Nanofat can’t be used for fat transfer but nanofat contains growth factors so when injected into the skin can greatly improve the skin texture and quality, so as such has great value.

Breast augmentation
The procedure can also be used to achieve a modest increase in breast size, for those who already have a good shape and tone in that area. Fat Transfer cannot be used to create large changes in breast size.

How is a fat transfer procedure performed?
A Fat Transfer procedure is achieved by collecting fat from one area of the body, washing purifying it, and then carefully injecting it (using specialist needles) into the target body areas. Usually the fat transfer procedure will need to be repeated a few times to achieve the optimal result as only about 50% of the transferred fat survives after each session.

Will I have any scarring?
The only scars you may get would be the result from liposuction, which is used to harvest your fat from the donor site. However, liposuction incisions are tiny, resulting in tiny scars that are strategically placed in hidden areas. The degree of scarring depends on the harvesting technique used and your surgeon will be able to discuss this with you in more detail at your consultation.
